Meeting Minutes for
Wednesday, June 13th,
2007
Members in attendance: Robert S. Young—Chairman, David A.
Martin—Vice Chairman, Shirley A. Schofield, Gordon Hughes, Brent L. Gundlah, W.
Reese Schroeder.
Meeting called to order at 7:43 p.m.
- Minutes from previous meeting unavailable. We will review
at next meeting.
- Sharon Commons—second letter was sent by Brona Simon from
the Mass. Historical Commission with concerns of historic nature of site.
- R. Young and S. Schofield have been helping out Jennifer
Goldson the consultant for CPC on historical issues. It was noted that
Susan Rich, the Historical Commission’s new representative to the CPC is
doing an excellent job.
- The Drake Cemetery Project—An abutter now has an issue
with the trail crossing their property because of insurance reasons.
- D. Martin to contact Selectman Joe Roach about State
project and Unitarian Church.
- The Doris Annis Park Dedication was a success. G. Hughes
commended for his work and sign.
- R. Young, D. Martin, S. Schofield, and S. Rich attended
the CHAPA meeting last month.
- R.Young to send Laura Davis letter concerning the addition
at her residence at 38 N. Main St. which is in Historic District I.
- R. Young went before Selectmen to start discussing
Sharon’s 250th anniversary.
- Motion by S. Schofield to nominate Saphire Manor and the
Saphire Family for the second annual Sharon preservation award. G.
Hughes—2nd. Vote unanimous.
- D. Martin received call from resident at 2 Edgehill Rd who
wants to raze house. We will set up an appointment to view house and will
hold a future meeting on subject.
- Motion by B. Gundlah to make up a subcommittee for the
inventory grant process. G. Hughes—2nd. Vote unanimous. Members
to be D.Martin, S. Rich, R. Schroeder.
- Motion to adjourn by D. Martin. B. Gundlah—2nd.
